The pressure is on (for us!)
As we move into the new year, my two beloved princesses are facing some major academic milestones. My eldest is gearing up for her International Baccalaureate exam, while my younger one is diving headfirst into the O-levels. With the pressure mounting, tensions are running high.
Despite their increasing maturity, some teenagers have a knack for putting things off until the last minute. And when they're not doing so, they're often glued to their phones, scrolling through social media and watching countless videos on TikTok/IG. It can be frustrating seeing them struggle to balance their priorities and manage their time.
I remember the time when Amber was not allowed to study! |
The allure of the tiny screen can be hard to resist, even for adults. It's all too easy to get sucked into a never-ending vortex of cat videos and meme compilations, especially when you're stressed out and feeling overwhelmed. That is the opening of the rabbit hole.
However, it's essential for us to guide them through these difficult times. Whether creating a study schedule, reminding them to rest, or simply lending a listening ear, we can make a real difference in their academic success and well-being. With patience, love, and understanding, we can help our teens achieve their full potential.
