So it's 2023!

We are a few days into 2023. This is a crucial year for all 3 of our kids - each for various academic reasons. From a career/job perspective, it might also prove pivotal given the state of the economy and tech. Things could change quickly, most likely not for the better. Keeping my fingers crossed – I think I’ve survived worse though.

But we did enter the new year recharged, given we went on vacation for the first time since 2019. Although holiday planning itself can be stressful, the result – being able to spend some time away from home doing something different – is rewarding enough to convince groups of people to stuff their clothes and other essential belongings inside luggage and haul them onto planes and cars and travel far away to so they can be unpacked again.

The four of us, not including Nigel, went to South Korea for 2 weeks while he travelled to Brunei. His wasn’t so much of a holiday, although he did manage to skip some of the tough training which perhaps made it more of a vacation than he originally expected. Either way, just leaving the country provided some respite from cabin fever.

After Christmas, the entire extended family took a 3-night trip to Johor Bahru where we did some fun stuff like go-karting, ATV, KTV and laser-tag. You don’t need to travel far to have fun, and it's down to doing the right things with people you care about!

Anyway, whatever you do, have a great 2023 and may you enjoy those special moments with your family!
