Mundanity

So we're in the swing of life. Happy New Year!

The holidays are over and we tried our best to have fun, bond as a family and create some interesting memories. But now we're back into the daily grind, work and school, early mornings, drop-offs, pick-ups, homework, conference calls. It's the mundanity of life, which essentially makes up the majority of our waking time.

We don't all work in extreme sports, or are professional footballers and skydivers - so what can we expect? We go to school and come home. We connect with our colleagues online and discuss work projects, then we log off and send some emails - and many days, that's all we have.

Being able to sit together to eat wanton noodles isn't something you should take for granted

But honestly, it's all we need. Of course, we all yearn to travel to exotic destinations, live in fancy homes and jump off bridges (with elastic ropes tied to our ankles hopefully) - but not all of us have the resources, money and time - so we look deep within ourselves and ask, what is really important to me now, which are the things I can put off for another time when times get better?

It's most likely your family, friends and the ability to just talk, share your experiences and maybe a joke or two - and don't forget to order that food so you can take your mask off!
