Stuck in Limbo Time

This time between Christmas and New Year always feels very surreal, like living in limbo. Traditionally, this week is forced leave, which started many years ago as a way for the company to cut costs by reducing their liabilities (any accountants out there?), but it has stuck and become part of our annual routine.

Christmas is over, so all the anticipation and planning is done and typically, we'd also be home (or maybe in Malaysia trying to soak up the last rays of vacation time) and just waiting for days to roll by till the year ends - and for school to inevitably begin again, but only for Shannon and Amber.

Nigel enters the army in a few months and is basically completely addicted to gaming - which I'm trying to convince him is bad for his eyes, health and also a complete waste of time - but you try talking to an eighteen-year-old and tell me how it goes.

At the outdoor section of Esplanade, soaking in the music and the lights!
