Our island nursery

Trees, trees, growing everywhere!
Our little island seems to have been transformed into a tree and plant nursery. There seem to be new trees being planted in any empty patch of grass next to a road (for easy watering I guess) - and given how closely they are spaced, I don't think they are meant to grow permanently there - talking about sibling rivalry and fighting for resources.

This has been happening for a while near where we stay, but I would dare say it is likely also similar in other areas of Singapore. Given we don't have much space, and possibly no large area dedicated to planting trees, someone in the green ministry probably said, "let's just plant there everywhere and then move them again once they grow bigger".

Don't let the other trees see this, I imagine it could be quite traumatic

The sad thing is you can also see big trees chopped down, probably due to safety, and swaths of land being cleared (can we call these deforestation given it's not as large as in other countries?) for industrial purposes. Do you think we are planting more than we are chopping down?

Hopefully, we soon be called the Little Green Dot, instead of the Little Red Dot.
