It's our nature to forget, and remember

Do you remember how peaceful and quiet it was during the circuit-breaker? It gave nature a chance to bloom, flourish and overgrow. Those were dark days, but also green.

Now that humans have returned, we've somewhat forgotten about the trees and plants. Not only do we lack the time now to go explore the wild - with the work, school, activities, gatherings (which we practically had none of) all back to normal (more or less), nature is also being (literally) cut down, chopped and replaced with construction sites, drilling, digging and concrete. Looks like we're making up for lost time, and building everything twice as fast.

Make time for nature. Appreciate God's oxygen-generating, shade-producing, solar-powered generators at work around us, in the parks and along the streets. I see many of them being cut, likely because they are old and pose a risk (I hope), but also lots of new ones planted (it will take a while for them to grow, give them space and time).

Taking a lovely stroll amongst the greenery, including some tall coconut trees ahead.

Despite all the chopping and building going on, it looks like the authorities are trying to balance things out by providing and preserving green spaces in the forms of parks around the island. We spent some time today walking in the Botanic Gardens - it was hot, then it was cloudy, thunder and drizzly. We only got to see a teeny bit given the weather and our lack of time.

We (I at least) definitely want to go back to explore more of the garden, including some of the newly opened parts. We'll likely go later in the evening when it's much cooler.
