No lockdown please

We've been staying at home more often now, because of that darn virus.

COVID-19, Coronavirus, can't-stand-you virus, it's all you hear about, think about, talk about all day, all night long. I'm really started to get sick (not physically, I'm still feeling well, thank you) of it and I'm sure you feel the same way too. There this new catchphrase which we now use as if it has been part of our daily lives since the early 1900s, Social Distancing. Ughhh!! Give me a break.

Social Distancing. Classic oxymoron. I want to be sociable but keep your distance. Let's be friends, but stay away from me. Hey man, how are you doing!! What? I can't hear you, because of the social distance between us!! How much longer can we take this!!
Don't you long for the days when you could just walk around without the fear of being attacked by a virus?
To be fair, we are really lucky. Our cases seem to be under control. The government has taken steps every now and then (confusingly sometimes) to control the border, behaviours and hangout-places in order to minimise human contact. It's worked so far - touching my wooden mouse (kidding, there's no such thing) - but I think it's still early days, and things could still go wrong, fast. Like walking on a tightrope, you need to take confident steps, but not get over complacent. I"m sounding like a politician, scientist, newscaster or one of the many "so-called" experts which appear on your screen using the darn SD word in every other sentence. Ughhhh. Stupid virus - so tiny yet so annoying.

It's good that school has not yet been suspended - and I hope it will not be. I think the kids initially thought it sounded fun - but after thinking about it a bit, they realised that it would be boring,, dull and ultimately render life meaningless (and disrupt their quest for knowledge, kidding - I don't think it went that far). MOE has managed to keep the schools open with some changes here and there, little disruptions and sacrifices for the greater cause. But who knows what will happen tomorrow - we have to keep our fingers crossed, and hearts in prayer, and our hands in soap.

I did a survey amongst the three of them a few days ago, and they did say they would want to continue going to school. How bizarre.
