Why the holidays are important?
So, we are at the start of another school year (oh yah,
Happy New Year) and everyone’s kinda
grumpy about it. There used to be a time when the adults were happy the school
year was starting again, given it signaled that the madness and mayhem of free
and unstructured time was ending. However, when your kids get older, you’ll start to realise the holidays are
really the only opportunity of the year that you get to spend quality time with
one another – this is because during the school
term, projects, homework, assignments, exams, rehearsals, training and so on
get in the way of everything and moments of togetherness and fleeting and rare.
I think we made use of our holiday quite well – spending some quality time, overseas and locally, with the kids, and also with the extended family, grandparents and cousins included.
Back to school!!
