Self-worth
After an individual learns the value of money, they will begin to try and assign a value to themselves - although sometimes the amount might be slightly off.
I overheard this conversation between Shannon and her mum yesterday.
Shannon (bumping into the chair): Ouch!!
She can be a bit clumsy at times.
Celest: Shannon, what are you doing? Do you know how much the chair cost if you damage it?
Shannon: How much?
Celest: A few hundred dollars.
Shannon: But am I not worth much more? After fourteen years, I'm sure you've spent a lot more on me for my school and other things.
Celest: How much?
Shannon: Around ten thousand dollars.
