To share or not to share
We were having breakfast the other day at our Taiwan hotel and Shannon was openly hinting that she loves Passionfruit, suggesting that we all surrender ours to her. Her grandfather obliged, given how much he loves his grandchildren.
As for me, I selfishly refused and promptly ate it up. I could have easily given it to her, knowing that her fondness for the fruit is definitely more than mine and that she would derive more pleasure from eating it than me. However, I think I would have done her a disservice and increased her sense of entitlement. I feel that kids these days think that the world owes them a living.
So we have to say "no" more, refuse to share when appropriate and once in a while, ask them to give you their stuff.
