All in different directions
It's been a hectic start to the new year - now with everyone in a different school. There are new morning travel arrangements, unique school start and end times, CCA schedules and so on - and school isn't even really in full swing yet!
Shannon especially has the biggest adjustments to make - given that her school is suddenly so far away. In addition, her hours are quite long - having to spend almost 8-9 hours a day in school, on average. She seems to be doing fine - at least for now - no signed of fatigue or tiredness, but it might happen later once the homework and projects pick up.
Nigel is all of a sudden in upper secondary, having to wear long pants and look all serious and academic. However, his mindset and sense of urgency hasn't really caught up yet and he still has to get his daily dose of reminders and nagging.
It feels like we are slowly losing control over the kids - as they spend more time away in school and at CCAs and we don't see them as often as we used to when they were younger. Those were the days when 3-hour kindergarten sessions were all we had to handle each day.
How I miss those times.
No - we aren't sunburnt! |
