Nigel and Shannon have received numerous Edusave awards over the last few years for achievements in academic and CCA-related activities. However, Amber seems to be missing out - even though she insists that she has been trying her best.

"I tried my best but I still didn't get it," she would say, with a tone of disappointment and despair in her voice.

Last year, she really tried hard and did much better in the latter part of the year. We could tell she put in that extra bit of effort and occasionally displayed flashes of brilliance and understanding. She overcame her grouchiness and sat up straight long enough to actually learn how to solve some maths problems. However, it still wasn't good enough for a School or Edusave award.

So we printed her an award and gave her a Popular Bookshop voucher. We also gave her a pat on the head and a huge hug.

You can tell from her look in the picture above that she was pleasantly surprised and really happy.
