Do your kids want to go back to school?

Riding the lift down - it's back to school today!

All across the island this morning, teeth were being brushed at 6.15am and shoe laces tied at 6.50am. Traffic jams ensued and the roads were packed with school buses and cars with children in school uniforms.

Have you asked your kids if they actually like school? I often ask them and apparently they like it - which is definitely a good thing. Of course, nowadays they do have a preference for holidays - just as I was walking the girls into their school this morning, they asked why we didn't extend our Hong Kong holiday further - I think it was just last minute minor pangs of school blues which hit them as they physically re-entered the school compound. A bit like booking back into camp during army time.

Nigel, however, seemed to be elated to attend his new school (see his big smile). However, given the extra workload, projects, CCA and so on, I'm not sure how long that feeling will last. We'll find out soon!
