Haven't seen Nigel in three days
This is the first time that Nigel has been away from home for such a long period. Once in kindergarten, he spent a night in the school as part of the graduation "rites" which encouraged all K2 children to have a sleepover in school - in the classrooms.
But this time, he is away for 3 nights as part of the annual church Altar Server's Camp. We only get to pick him up on Friday morning and we're not quite sure what he will look like. Based on that picture above, he looked healthy and normal, but that was on the first day and in the two days since then, he might have grown a beard (thanks Gene for putting that image in my head).
When I dropped him off on Tuesday at 7.45 in the morning, I told him to give us a call at night to tell us how things were going. As expected, we have not received a single phone call since then - granted, we didn't allow him to take his mobile phone but I did give him a bunch of ten-cent coins. Unless there aren't any public phones around? That's a possibility, which is unlikely. He's probably just having so much fun he forgot about us!!
