Playing the game

As you know, we hardly allow our children to play with electronic gadgets (except for their Kindle readers, which is not really a gaming device anyway) when we go out. So at the dining table while waiting for food to be served, there is sometimes complaining, moaning, sulking and begging going on. So, what do they do? They have to figure out how to keep things interesting, which means playing other forms of games like scissors-paper-stone, word games etc.

Occasionally, one of them will bring out a pack of cards - not the casino type - but the Uno type. And to keep up with the times, Uno has an Angry Birds version with all their favourite flying characters from the actual electronic game (ironic isn’t it? ;)). See Shannon below giving me a peep as to what cards she has. Talk about peeping, all the kids are serial cheaters trying to peep at each other’s cards and do all kinds of other unscrupulous maneuvers which would surely get them kicked out of any casino.

Looks like we are back to basics here - some whole hearted non-electronic fun which the entire family can enjoy. Now I just need to figure out how I can beat them at this silly game. Lol.
