Pushing an elephant up the stairs
Brings to mind the R.E.M. song.
But it really rings a bell most mornings - and sometimes it is the school bell, meaning they are late!
There are really 4 steps to getting ready for school, these are as follows:
1. Brush your teeth
2. Change out of your pajamas to your school uniform
3. Drink your Milo, eat your breakfast, chew your vitamins
4. Get your bag, put on your shoes and head out of the door
However, apparently at 6.30am in the morning, a primary school kid can only process one item at a time. Which means, every 3 minutes, I have to remind them to complete the current step of the process and move on the the next one. If not, they go into the default mode of staring into the blank space in front of them.
