A reminder
I have this picture frame sitting on my desk at home. It's not the cute and candid photograph sitting within it that strikes (not physically) me everyday, but the words that say "To be in our children's memories tomorrow, we have to be in their lives today."
This is a reminder that it is up to us as parents today to build up a bond, a pool of memories from which they can tap in their older years - fun, meaningful and cherished times with mum and dad and the family. Often we hear about how someone missed out on their childhood years, on how they didn't experience the love of their parents - these things come out while sitting on a couch in some doctor's office.
Well, we have a chance to correct that right now. So spend quality time with them today - talk, listen, laugh and build up the memories for tomorrow.
