My long/short week

So I spent the week in Boise and Palo Alto. Actually I spent 2 days on planes and 4 days walking around (more accurately in meeting rooms, hotel rooms and restaurants).

Although it was a rush trip, I did get some stuff done. One of the main positives was my time spent with colleagues which I've never met face-to-face. Some of them I have, but many years ago. The ability to catch-up, see their faces, smiles and frowns really added that human-touch which can sometimes go missing in virtual teams.

I also got to meet my manager, whom until now has only been a voice in the phone. I'm sure she feels the same about me. I gave her a hug when I left Boise.

I'm not a big-time traveler, even for vacations. I have trouble adjusting to new timezones, sleeping in hotel rooms and even packing my own bags (Celest packed for me). So I won't say that it was fun, but I guess I try to make the best use of the situation and get the most I can out of it.

Anyway, it's time to go home now and pretty soon I'll have to deal with jet-lag all over again, but this time in hot sunny Singapore. Time to shutdown and fly away!!
