Shy Shannon
Shannon's suddenly developing a sense of self-awareness.
I normally "collect" her from the ballet class and she typically has no qualms about changing there in the open in front of everyone. She's 4 years old and, has until now, had no issue with walking around bare-bodied in front of total strangers.
But today (and I haven't picked her up in a while, so maybe it has been going on for a month or two) she insisted on changing in the changing room. So into the little cubicle we went and I helped her change there.
When I asked her why she had to use the room, she answered "because I don't want my friends to laugh at me". I think that's the kiddy version of "I don't want to be naked in public" which is completely understandable. I guess if you have a daughter who insists on changing in front of a whole bunch of people, then you should be concerned. So, from this week onwards, it's changing room or nothing.
