Pictures and Art
For all you sentimental parents out there, nothing beats pictures that are drawn and coloured by your little ones. You wonder at their growing pen-control skills, colouring abilities and of course, their creativity.
After a while, you get a whole pile of pictures, stack of scribbles, drawer of drawings ... basically, ART. You start keeping a few, then more, and boxes. Some hang some up on the wall, changed every month, and you head out to IKEA for more frames. Finally, you run out of wall space, box space, mind space.
For me, however, throwing their cute creations away is not really an option. These are precious pieces of early work that, probably won't fetch high prices in the art market, but are dear to me. One day I know I will take them out and admire them, and they might do the same.
So we keep collecting them in ever more compact ways. I think I'll begin scanning some of them now (like the piece above drawn by Shannon, I think) so even if Celest discards them, I will have a soft-copy which will reside safely (I hope) in the drive.
