The very large (hence very hungry) caterpillar
I was wondering what all the screaming (adults, children) was about downstairs. It wasn't quite the horror type of squeals, neither was it the ohh-I'm-so-happy sort.
I knew Celest and Isti were doing some gardening and clearing of stuff and mum was also helping. Isti was the first to scream and I also heard her voice fade into the distance meaning she was screaming and running away from something, was, if you know here, isn't actually that unusual. When I heard mum exclaim that it was huge, I knew I had to go down with a camera.
And true enough, it was the biggest, fattest and most hungry caterpillar I've ever seen. Eric Carle would be proud of this specimen. I wouldn't want to see the butterfly that this guy morphs into, you could probably tie a string to it and fly it like a kite.
The kids were initially even scared to stand behind it to take a picture, but eventually they did. When they saw that it wasn't really going to jump on to their faces, the relented and stood behind for a quick shot.
