Running in the rain
Celest and I just came back from our usual Monday morning breakfast trip to the coffee shop outside. Well, not really breakfast today as I had 3 slices of bread at home already - 2 slices made by myself and another prepared by Celest not knowing that I already wolfed down the 2 pieces earlier.
So I just had coffee (which I only started drinking about 6 months ago because I'd often ask people to go for coffee, but end up drinking ice-lemon tea) and she looked at me drinking asking why I don't just drink ice-lemon tea. She basically accompanies me out so that I can drink something that can be easily prepared at home, such is the love of my wife for me :)
And the sky turned darker as we sat gossiping. Amber wasn't with us as her grandparents took her out for her their breakfast (even though she already ate at home) and to the playground. I doubt she drank coffee - but that could have easily happened with her grandfather around and would easily explain the erratic jumpy behaviour when we next saw her. But she's always like that anyway - excited beyond belief and squiggly like a worm.
So we started walking home, quickly and in the last 100m we were almost sprinting as the heavenly drops splashed down around us and the sky looked increasingly like Independence Day. We made it back without being overly wet, glad to see that Amber was already home - a dry squiggly worm.
