Notes from inside a recession: Closer familes
As this recession drags on, people will start looking for more ways to cut their costs. One of the ways would be for them to stop relying on their domestic helpers and take a more DIY approach to the household and children.
This will result in more tired parents as they take on more household duties and double-up their efforts at home. This could mean actually bathing the kids, dressing them up and *gasp* feeding them!
The good side-effect is, closer families and being forced to spend more quality time with your children. Which is always a good thing!
To businesses - prepare for more family-friendly products to facilitate parents spending time with their children. Alternatively, provide kid play areas where they can let them monkey around for several hours while we take a short break in the malls. Hey, we need all the help we can get now!
