The trouble with school
You'll think - wow, once they grow to a certain age, we can send them to school. They'll learn new things, make new friends, and now we can have some peace at home. Well, it seems fun and dandy for a while and then you realise ... I'm losing my children!
All of a sudden, they have more important things planned than spending time with you. No longer are you able to grab them to go to the beach and play in the sand, all because it's a beautiful day and you're not working. No sudden holiday trips out of the blue to quiet destinations, and even that walk out to the playground needs extra thinking about. Nope - it's not that simple any more - you have to work around their schedules - and that probably means spending less time with them on the whole.
And when you think about it, once it begins, it doesn't end (in fact it gets worse) until they've grown up and started working, and they will be scheduling time to spend with you instead of the other way around.
So I guess, don't be in such a hurry to rush them off to school - it's not necessarily the best thing for family bonding. And when they do finally get to school, it's important to continue scheduling those precious slots of time with them. Hold on to them now, before they get too big to fit into your hands.
