Do you want to fly?
We took a "flight" on the Singapore Flyer yesterday to get a feel of what it is like to be on top of that big wheel we always go by. We saw it being built from scratch - when it was a quarter, a half, three quarters and then a full circle. We saw them slowly adding the carriages - each day we drove by, there would be something new, like a baby being formed in the womb, like a butterfly evolving from a caterpillar. We wondered how long it was going to take, would it ever complete. So now it's done.
We had to go for a ride - there was no other choice.
It was, in my opinion, well worth the money (although it was eventually sponsored by Dad, who didn't even want to go up in the first place) to be on top of the world and to say that we rode on the world's tallest observation wheel. For just a few seconds, when we were right on top, it was a scary yet amazing feeling sitting on the edge of space, balancing on at tip of the atmosphere. And then you descend and return to earth.
The children enjoyed it - although I suspect the Nigel was just busy looking for WRXes on the ECP 165 meters below.
