Loosen up those buttons
I've recently been paying attention to how people press buttons, mainly because I see Nigel and Shannon pressing them too.
These buttons, mainly the pedestrian-crossing and lift types, are fun to press - from children to adults, we all just can't seem get enough of them. Loosen up those buttons now, because here come either a bunch of mischievous children or impatient adults who press these buttons an average of 5 times per second or more.
The first group (children) just find pure pleasure out of repeatedly hitting that square. A little finger exercise perhaps. What can you do?
The second group (adults) seem to think that the more you press the button, the faster the lift will arrive or the quicker the lights will turn green. Either way, I don't think it really works like that. Smart engineers have recently invented this thing called the "little-light" which illuminates when the button is pressed - this serves as an indicator to let one know "OK, this button has already been pressed - now relax and wait while we go through the process of bringing the elevator to your level". Well, what can you do? Perhaps not everyone is an engineer, or patient enough.
Next time you see a person (ignore the children) pressing the buttons like it's one of those shooting arcade games, think about it - are things actually going to move faster, or are you just loosening up those buttons , babe.
