Another year over
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
- John Lennon and Yoko Ono
In the words of John Lennon, another year over, a new one just begun (soon). So what have we done?
Looking back at the year, 2007 has been very good to us. We've had Amber (order, manufactured, delivered in 2007) and she's a darling baby angel sent by God Himself. Nigel and Shannon have grown up to be fine elder siblings and have welcomed their new sister with (almost too) open arms. They want to kiss her all the time, and Celest and I are afraid she would get their (loving, but troublesome) germs.
This year, we've also spent quite alot of time at our own home at Edelweiss Park. It's a very precious place to us, being our first home and a cosy getaway. However, we'll soon have to say goodbye as we try to sell it off - with the bigger family now, we're going to get a bigger place. In the mean time, the children still love going there, to the playground, the pool, or just playing in their own room. I'm not sure if they will remember the apartment when they grow up - but Celest and I will always have a special place in our hearts for it.
Work-wise, I feel that I've given a tremendous amount of energy to my job and literally worked my backside off. I've been blessed with employment in a great company and also have a solid and understanding management team that not only recognises hard-work but also rewards accordingly. I've been here for over 5 years and I can easily see myself here for another 5. God has truly blessed me, putting me in a place where work/life balance has actually been a "goal" for me in my 2008 targets - isn't that strange and wonderful at the same time?
The years keep getting better and 2007 has surely been one of the best. With Celest, our children, Fred, Bihye and Gabriel, mum and dad and all our friends, I'm looking forward to another excellent year in 2008. Nigel and Shannon begin their schools officially (kindergarten and nursery respectively) so it's going to be a new set of challenges altogether - but we'll make it, we always do!!
Thank you to everyone for making our lives so special - we hope that we've had the same impact on you too!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead!!
May God bless you and your loved ones.
