Hello there little girl

I woke at 8.50am this morning to Celest complaining that she had been up since 4.30 walking and going to the toilet numerous times because of "sharp pains" which she suspected were contractions - 3rd child and she's still not quite sure, maybe we should go for a few more :)

So we rushed to KK hospital and got ourselves checked into the delivery suite where the contractions started getting more painful and more frequent. True enough, the baby wanted to come out. Not only was she (we already knew remember?) almost 3 weeks early, but she wanted out fast! Early release.

The doctor came in and said, ok - time to push! So push she did, and it was only about 10 mins of serious pushing and the baby's head was out!! The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck like a pair of iPod headphones - I think she was listening to some fast house music - explains.

She was born at 11.56am on 24 October 2007. Weighing slightly over 2.9kg and sounding like the little baby she is - although we know that the crying volume will increase over the next few days. Her face was red and her back was whitish. She's so cute that I want to cuddle her - and I did for a while until it was time for Celest to try and breast feed her.

Things couldn't have been smoother - except that she doesn't have a name and a cot at this point.

Thanks for your well-wishes!! We'll come up with a name soon - it's what responsible parents do, apparently :)
