The accidental sonographer and other amazing stories
When we went for our detailed scan of the 8 month old unborn baby on Friday, the sonographer revealed a bit too much information for our liking. As you might (or might not) know, we've never wanted to know the gender of our yet-to-be-born babies - this happened for both Nigel and Shannon. This, in our opinion, adds to our anticipation and also helps us to remain neutral in our preparation. It also gives us something extra to look forward to on the day of the birth, not that there aren't enough things to look forward to.
So when the sonographer finished her scan, put the apparatus down, gave us a smile and said "looks like a healthy baby <<insert boy or girl here>>", all we did was look at each other in disbelief. So now we know, but yet we don't. Part of our brains still have not accepted the new information and debunk it as something that was a complete fabrication of our imagination. It's bizarre to say the least.
Celest's gynaecologist claims that sonographers are not supposed to discuss such things. Something went wrong that day apparently.
