It's hot - save energy

It's the typical hot-spell again in our sunny island where it gets really humid and the rain seems to have gone on vacation.

Most people head for the air-conditioner remote-control, but that's gonna drive up your electricity bill nd contribute to the vicious global warming which would drive temperatures up even higher.

Here's some ideas on how to cool down without any energy use.

1. Take off your shirt - this might only work in your own home. Not sure about ladies - but can try also. Might not be compatible with 2.

2. Open your window. How many of us have windows (car and home) that are permanently cemented shut. You might be surprised to find out that with the gentle breeze outside, the fresh-air outside could be cool. As in 1., take your shirt off for additional effect.

3. Go for a swim. If you have a pool nearby, nothing beats the heat that jumping into that collection of water. Else look at 4.

4. Take a shower - but leave the heater off. After all, you want to cool down right? Wash your hair.

5. Drink lots of water. And while you're at it, pour some over your head and down your back.

6. Go outside - same as 2. Being stuck inside your home or in your car is doesn't necessarily mean you're staying cool. In the evenings especially, the breeze is refreshing. Being on an island means you pretty much have a land or sea breeze blowing at most times.

7. As per a suggestion, you can also take 5. a little further and wet your shirt. I actually told Celest this was a good idea but she said it was a definite way to get sick - but that's besides the point right? Because this is titles "How to be cool" not "How to not get sick". But I personally think it's a good idea - but it might not apply to ladies or people in the office.
