Celebrating Fathers' Day
We went for the early mass today which gave us 2 hours of extra lunch time - which was perfect for us to celebrate Fathers' Day. Too bad Daddy is away on a business trip - since like he's always disappearing during this time of the year - the last time we celebrated Fathers' Day with him was probably in 1984.
Being a Father is great - despite all the negativity around parenting and screaming kids that some of my single or yet to have children friends say. There's something special about it, something natural and grown-up. All of a sudden, there are these little people running up to you saying "that's my daddy, that's my daddy" (quoting Shannon) which really makes up for all that screaming.
I know that there will be the day that she will stop doing that - so I'm enjoying it while I can.
Happy Fathers' Day to all you daddies out there! Including me!
