Missing the kids

Even though we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long holiday alone by ourselves (almost like a second honeymoon) in Japan - we constantly thought about Nigel and Shannon.

We made daily calls back home to check how things are and to chat with Nigel, Shannon and also Gabriel (when he was around). It was so fun talking on the phone with them - but it got emotional when Nigel started saying "I want you to come home Mummy" with tears forming in his voice.

I noticed Celest looking at the small Japanese children and making remarks about how cute they were or how they reminded her of Nigel or Shannon. We also constantly found ourselves commenting about how they would have enjoyed themselves if they were there with us - especially when we visited DisneySea with the fun kiddy rides.

Anyhow, they survived the week without us and Mum and Dad did a terrific job of keeping them occupied.

It was fun watching them when we met up again after a week of absence - it was at the coffee shop because they returned from their trip to Malacca and went direct to dinner. Nigel's face lighted up in complete excitement and Shannon kept rubbing her head against my shoulder. It was like a long awaited reunion and we had disappeared for years!!

However, I don't think we'll be making another trip without them in a while.
