In a world of violence ...

The unfortunate and tragic shooting incident in the US reminds us once again that the world seems to be spiralling into an out-of-control place that is littered with violent and angry people. And to the depressed, the self-absorbed, the selfish, the overly-competitive, it probably looks that way.

I think the world is getting tired running full-steam ahead. All we hear that seems to be positive is "economic progress", "growth" and "globalization". What about the state of the human race, happy people and a general "how's it going dude"? Is everything just broken down to statistics and quarter-over-quarter improvements?

Why are we always rushing? Is our blood always boiling? Do we really need to speed down that narrow lane?

Many years ago, Axel Rose said:

Said, woman, take it slow

It'll work itself out fine

All we need is just a little patience

Said, sugar, make it slow

And we come together fine

All we need is just a little patience

If we learnt to be patient, if we understood that we did actually have a little more time, if we allowed ourselves the luxury to stroll, I feel the world would be a better place. There would be less stress, less accidents, less violence.
