The Dam Tour

Since we had Friday off, we took a 4 hour trip out to see the Hoover Dam. It was built in the 1930s and even today, is quite a marvel of engineering.

On one side of the dam (high side) is Lake Mead, the largest man-made lake in the US that was formed as a result of the dam. On the other side is the Colorado River, tamed and harnessed.

Harnessed for clean water and electricity for many cities in the area, including Las Vegas itself.
