Another milestone
We recently dismantled Shannon's cot with a view of passing it back to Merv and Debbie who apparently have a friend that needs it (or maybe they need it for themselves ... huh huh ...).
Result is that Shannon is sleeping on a mattress on the floor - much like how Nigel sleeps. This is of course in Mum and Dad's house. In Edelweiss they have their own blue and pink Ikea beds.
Shannon had real issues with sleeping on the mattress initially and Celest had to spend a long time each time to coax her to lie down and sleep. Another round of convincing typically occurs at 4am when she typically wakes up to try to cross over to our bed. Last night, however, she didn't wake up (I think). I took her old cot mattress and placed it strategically behind her back. I think it gave her a sense of security having a soft object behind and that gave her the confidence to continue sleeping through the night.
So, we have 2 children now that can sleep on normal beds without falling off. Is that an achievement or what?!
