Happy Shopping

The season of Christmas seems to be associated with lots of shopping, long queues at the cashier and throngs of people at the mall.

It used to be "Merry Christmas!" which has become a more secular "Happy Holidays!". Last night as I was watching ESPN, the host actually said "Happy Shopping!" which was going to be said sooner or later. I hope it's the spirit of giving, and not just the need to shop. At least with "giving" we have an excuse for rushing out to buy stuff :)

When you have children and your friends have children, the shopping becomes very kiddy-centric and you end up buying LOTS more gifts - actually, more gifts than you've ever bought. However, it is somewhat easier to buy presents for children as there are so many more choices and these little ones tend to be less fussy and easier to please - well, at 2-3 years old at least.

We had to do some last-minute shopping ourselves yesterday. We headed to Tampines Mall which was super crowded and had to fight our way through the crowds. I have a feeling we're actually not done yet too.

These pictures were taken by Tse Chong who popped by with his new mobile phone - which we bought as a present for himself. I sometimes wish I could buy a present for myself - but the feeling is different with a family, the children tend to come first and everything else feels somewhat unnecessary.

Merry Christmas! everyone Happy Holidays! And if you need to, Happy Shopping!
