Evening without the children

Bottom view of this weird structure that acts as a covering at Clarke Quay. We were here on Saturday.
We were lucky enough to get some "time-off" on Saturday to hang out by ourselved without Nigel and Shannon. It's been a long time since we've managed to go out without them and the feeling is actually quite strange. It's a mixture of freedom and worry - a bit like escaping from jail but wondering if you left the pillow in the right position under the blanket to make it look like you are sleeping in bed. You see - we do have to return eventually.

Anyway, we took the time to check out some sofas and have dinner with Mervin and Debbie. We went to the Liang Court area and walked around Clarke Quay for a while.

Saffie is sick, and you can tell Debbie is worried about her. When you have children, your world revolves around them. Even when you're out without them, part of your mind is still running around the house and feeding them. Commitment.

Bihye asked the other day if bringing up children in the previous generation was any different from today - and I think it is. I'll talk about my thoughts on that soon.
