Be a Pencil ... wor

Harrow everybody! It's time to take things down a notch from all this serious talk about separation anxiety, dirty underwear and insects.

I listen to these bunch of idiots on Perfect 10, they call themselves Ong and Leong and they sometimes come on air around 6.30pm in the evenings. I've also found their podcast page (see Leonard's Links) which is a collection of their recordings - it's quite amazing how silly but funny their conversations go, especially when they put on that phony Hong Kong Chinese accent, complete with horribly wrong grammar, wor. Celest think's I'm nuts to keep listening to them - but I don't know why I'm kinda hooked.

A recent one that caught my attention was about why we should all aspire to be pencils, instead of normal respectful human beings. The reasons they gave were surprisingly good and actually made sense for once. Here is a breakdown of their points.
  1. Remember there is a hand guiding your steps - are they referring to a higher force, God perhaps?
  2. The use of a sharpener would put you through some pain, but you will emerge a better and more focused pencil.
  3. Don't be afraid to use the attached eraser to make corrections as you go along, it's a normal part of life to err.
  4. It's the quality of the lead inside you is important, not so much the exterior wood.
  5. Everything you do in life will leave a mark - don't forget that we can either inspire others, or scar them.
Wah - I can actually breakdown their nonsense into meaningful "take-aways" wor. I write for youuuuuuuuuu.

I think I need help ... :)
