Nigel Looooooves School

In his usual hyper-exaggerated way, Nigel exclaims “I looooooove School!”. He’s on his second day (of three) of trial at the nursery and he seems to be enjoying himself. In fact yesterday we used it as a threat to get him to sleep early (i.e. if you don’t sleep, you can’t go to school) and it worked. He cried when I told him him couldn’t go since he was naughty – in several years time it’ll probably be the opposite.

Somehow he doesn’t seem to remember anything from school. He claims he forgot what he learnt, didn’t make any friends and ate nothing but plain rice for lunch (although the teacher told Celest that they also had tofu and chicken). Maybe the excitement gave him temporary amnesia – which happens in young children. Well, let’s see what he has to say tonight.

The house is quiet. Debbie and Saffie dropped by yesterday and the two girls were playing quietly together. Noticeably absent was the screaming and running around, according to Celest. It’s actually quite strange not to have Nigel about – it’s peaceful and calm and Shannon can do what she likes without getting into any violent conflicts. But I bet she misses her elder brother.

As for Nigel, we hope he continues to looooooooove School. Once he gets older and the homework and assignments start piling up, I will remind him about his first few days of formal education.
