Harbourfront Parking
We had dinner at Harbourfront tonight and the parking was total madness. It was full all the way to the top. Don't trust the digital numbers which show 40, 50 free lots on the top floor - completely inaccurate as there were basically zero lots there.
So, I had to drive downwards and look around near the exit. Presto! I saw this sign on the lots to the left of the exit and there were several empty lots. I was driving around for 30 mins before getting that lot - sometimes you feel like crying as you begin to think to yourself that you would NEVER get to park and are destined to park at that URA carpark 20 mins away by foot!
There were probably 2 reasons why these lots were empty while every other driver was circling like vultures and stalking people to their cars.
1. These lots were smack next to the exit - there is an escape path to the right so you're not forced to exit the building however. Not many people think of heading to the exit in order to find a lot. It's like giving in order to receive more in a weird type of nonsensical way.
2. Most people don't read too well. Looking at the sign, you can obviously park on Saturday nights. People that have driven around for 20 mins looking for spaces often have tears in their eyes - thus making reading black font on yellow extremely difficult.
The next time you happen to venture to Harbourfront on a weekend for dinner - look for these lots as they would most probably be empty. When you do get the lot, think about how Leonard probably parked in your space before. :)
