Tiring Children
Children are hard to explain.
Those of us without children wish we had children - we try all types of methods in order to conceive, we pray, we wish, we read, we see the doctor, we look longingly at other families with children running around.
Those of us with children call them "monsters", say we're tired and try all kinds of methods to be free of them, even if it's just for a while.
Actually, Parents are hard to explain; Children are easy - they need love, attention, time and lots of encouragement and support. They fall, they cry, they bruised - and they need to be picked up, kissed and loved all over again. Children are our life - there's no denying that.
I've heard friends say that spending time with their children is very tiring. It's no lie - just running around with Nigel or playing with Shannon, even for just a few minutes, seems very draining. They're constantly asking questions, throwing things around, wanting to read books, wanting to be carried to see things, want to drink water, want to eat biscuits, need to shee-shee, need to have diapers changed, climbing, running, jumping on the sofa - there's no end. It's exhausting.
But that's what children are - the trick, I think, is to play with them. Emmerse yourself in their world, become a child again, gel and bond with them so you'll begin to enjoy yourself while you're with them. Don't treat them like little kids, but treat them like playmates. Enjoy your time with them and you'll have a ball!!
Being a parent can be fun! :)
