Night-time Activities
People think that the moment your children grow up a little you don't have to wake up in the middle of the night anymore - sad to say, it's not totally true.
Nigel (now 3 years and 1 month) still typically wakes up about once a night. Last night he had a dream (or was it me) and I heard him shout "I forgot to say goodbye to Daddy". He's very adamant about these things (e.g. each morning he HAS to wave goodbye to the man driving the garbage truck - and his sister just as fixated on that, else she would cry). And sometimes it's difficult to get him to go back to sleep - so poor Celest has to try to put him back to sleep again at 5am.
Shannon (coming to 16 months) also wakes up for her feed still - Celest is still 100% breast-feeding her. Most mornings, I wake up with a small person lying next to me with her foot in my face. On good mornings, that small person is still in her own cot - which is ideal. But mostly her foot is in my face.
So - it doesn't quite end when they walk - it goes on a bit. And there are good and bad days, not quite your computer programming logic you'd expect from the 21st century. But it's all good fun huh.
