Time to dry your hands?
One thing I notice when I go to the toilet is that people hardly have time to stand and dry their hands using the hot-air blower. Typically, if a paper option is available, most will go for that. If the dryer is the only option, 8 of of 10 would walk out with dripping hands - maybe to be wiped elsewhere.
Why don't we have time to stand and dry our hands? I think it's because most people feel they don't have time to stand. When you stand in front of the machine and let the warm air dry your hands, do you feel like you're wasting precious time? Like you could be doing something better like perhaps walking quickly out of the toilet? Perhaps that 30 seconds could be spent making money or catching up on an important client?
I like to use the dryer - it gives me a reason to stop and breadth, to think, and to read the wordings on the device. (There's a brand called Rigel - which reminds me of Nigel.) It reminds me that we almost always have 30 seconds to spare - even if we don't think so. Modern humans like to rush around - but do we really need to? Mostly no.
Besides, it helps to save the environment. I read somewhere that using the dryer is more environmentally friendly than using paper. I think it's true.
