Happy 40th Birthday Singapore!

Today, our nation celebrates 40 years of independence. The last few years of "hardship" and unfortunate events both at home and around the world has taught us to cherish our homeland and good fortune. As is often said, the young ones grew up in comfort and have never experienced war or any form of difficulties - and hence, have taken things for granted.

However, we have renewed hope now for our country - and together in one voice, we are now happy and proud to proclaim that we are Singaporean!
