Tradition has it ...
Tradition has it that the women in the Kapalasakate tribe of the Amazon jungle cannot look directly into the lens of a Motorola camera phone.
In Kapal legend, members often tell of a fellow tribeswoman that accidentally glanced at a photographer who was using a handset manufactured by the U.S. company. She apparently got herself paralysed in one toe - the exact toe that was affected varies based on who's telling the story. The unfortunate lady ended up walking funnily and occasionally stumbled on the pebbly paths of the Limau Buaduku treks heading to the treacherous pihrana-filled river. These paths are also lined with thorny shrub and she has apparently suffered several scratches to her arms. Many of the tribeswomen of today often relate this story to each other as a reminder of the dangers of the evil that the technology of the outside world has cast upon them.
From young, these women are trained to walk around with their palms straight out. They are also given updated brochures of the latest Motorola phones so they do not get confused with devices from other companies.
The rest of the time, these hard working and industrious females tend to the village children, cook funky meals and negotiate financial and insurance packages.
